The Fighting Channel started off slowly and with a lot of work has been developed into the site it is today. But it didn't get that way overnight. It took many months, almost five to be exact. On Dec 22, 2004 and the time of 8:10pm, Angela Rakestraw, who has always dreamed of having a site, pulled up a page that said that they host sites for free. Well, Angela didn't beat around the bush, she slapped on her trusty thinking cap and pulled up her computer chair. Soon the site was up and running, having already five boards(Introduction, Idle Chat, Movies, Books, Sports).
As with concluding the making of her site she( that's me) got busy inviting people over to join. Many of the first members came from another site that Angela spent alot of time on. caf, Rainbowclown, Madness, ChuckyFan101, Spyro, Suzzala, Simienne and Wa1212Io12 were the first members. . Madness came from another site, so did Chuckyfan101. After a week in development Coulrophobics was given a new make over and alot more boards were added (Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday The Thirteen, Halloween and a section for fighting).
When January ended and Febuary began Coulrophobics was placed into another tramatic adventure. Marco Beltrami and his friends( I use to call them goons)attacked the boards and threatened to shut us down. Angela had some much needed help from Chuckyfan101, caf and Rainbowclown. Through them she banned the spammers and got some codes that stopped guests from posting. After that we had people coming on to make the member(currently 22 at the time)turn on the site and me. But we stuck to it and showed some backbone.
When April came about the site had another dramatic make over. Many of the boards were deleted and some of them were renamed. Angela tried her best to make the site look good. She got a banner made(the banner they had had at first was horrible) and they got an affiliate table. Afterwards an Affiliate was made. At that time Tommy Jarvis, a wonderful man with graphics and movie talk, had joined(of course he left due to the look of the site)and then rejoined and became a wonderful member.
When August and September came by the site had a new name. Coulrophobics was renamed to The Fighting Channel. Boards were deleted and the site had another make over that still exists today. The banner was remade and a new affiliate was created. The site also got some more members, the summer never was that hot for members to come on and post. So far the site has a total of 83 members. Another new advantage that was added to the site was the Saybox. Another board was also made, called Guests Talk ins.
This site has endorsed so much in so short a time, I'm surprised it's still around. The sites the younger of her brothers and in a month, she'll be a year old. Imagine the look on my face when I found that out, it kind of slipped my mind. The site has alot of beloved members, Nirvana, Madness, Undertaker, Mrs. Loomis, thorn, to name just a few. I wish the site well for its first birthday. Heck, the sites survived into a new year so fcar, what'll become of it next year. Thinks to myself, should I keep it the way it is or change it.
